NAE™ Classroom: The Blue Flame The Blue Flame, driven by Gary Gabelich, was propelled by a Liquid Natural Gas rocket engine which reached an average speed of 622.407 mph (998.341 km/h) on October 23, 1970.
Dick Keller of Virginia sent us these photos of the Blue Flame in the Auto & Technik Museum Sinsheim in Germany. Thanks, Dick. Claudia Heilmann sent us some close up photos of the Blue Flame. The Blue Flame is currently on display in the Auto & Technik Museum Sinsheim in Sinsheim, Germany.
