About Us Home of the Land Speed Record Challenger

North American Eagle

image

Welcome to the home of the North American Eagle. Our mission is to bring the world land speed record back to North America. With an all volunteer team of engineers, technicians, mechanics and computer geeks, we have a vehicle built to safely break the 763 mph world land speed record set on October 15, 1997 by the British.

To date we have made 34 test runs on ten different occasions. This year of 2013 will see the NAE move into the high speed phase of the project, that will validate our computational fluid dynamic analysis. Our first objective is to break the world female land speed record set by Kitty O'Neil in 1976 at 512 MPH. In 2014, we will be ready to set the new record.W

Mark Moore and his company, Uremet Corporation,  have been supporting the North American Eagle™ since 2005.  You might not have heard of Uremet, but everyone reading this update has used their products. Uremet Corporation manufactures and rebuilds wheels for roller coasters and rides for over 400 amusement parks around the world. If you have ever been to a Universal, Six Flags or Disneyland theme park you have ridden on Uremet Wheels.  When we asked Mark if he gets a discount at theme parks he smled and said "I don't pay and I don't wait in lines!"

Measurement Innovation 2012

Ed and Keith were keynote speakers at Innovation Measurement 2012 put on by our good friends and sponsors at Capture 3D.

Catherine Kim from Capture 3D

Catherine Kim and Tiffany from Capture 3D have been coordinating this event for over a year and it was evident by how smoothly everything went. The 3 day event included numerous networking opportunities including a dinner cruise along Newport Beach.  Everyone had a great time and new business friendships made.

Keith, Matt Melis and Ed

The presentation preceding Ed and Keith's was given by Matt Melis from NASA.  Matt's one hour presentation on the Space Shuttle program was excellent and he went into great detail of the Columbia incident and the investigation that included extensive use of Capture 3d ATOS scanners.  After about four words into Matt's presentation, Keith told Ed he knew this guy!  Matt has produced a couple of the finest video on the Space Shuttle you will ever see!  They have been going viral on YouTube.  He worked with Lucas Films on the second one below with enhanced sound.  Click on the photos below to view each YouTube video.
