NAE™ Project: Update

Featured Sponsors

June 22, 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen:

It was work out day as the team lifted weights, pushed storage carts, moved tool boxes, rolled welding machines and loaded the 56 foot long 14,000 lb North American Eagle™ in preparation of our upcoming test session.   Tim Finley, Bernard McVay, Von Armstrong, John Winchester, Chris Greene, Jeremy Mathews, Tom  Pengelley,  Shauna   Hannum, Omar Chramosta,  Bill Eckberg, John Drury, Jon Higley, Rich Pengelley,  Steve Wallace, Sam Yellowbird, Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle were all pretty sore by the end of the day.

On days like this it becomes very clear we would not be on the verge of setting the world land speed record without the products supplied by our sponsors.  In a repeat of our previous eight test sessions, Central Welding Supply loaned us one of their brand new Lincoln 12 KW generator sets.  With built in welders we can not only make our coffee in the morning and light the Cover-All Structure at night, but perform welding in the field if the need arises.

The previous week the guys loaded our three AFFF Foam Fire Systems from Western Fire and Safety, McVay's Mobile Welding, and Northwest Sports Divers along with our McVay Mobilizer.  All of this was loaded into our number # 2 Eagle Machine, Inc support trailer.

Meanwhile another group started loading Eagle into the LevX Race Car Transporter including axles and wheels manufactured by Eagle Machine, Inc and UREMET, Inc.

Ed and Chris finish applying sponsor decals supplied by Lisa and Thor Holder from Signs by Tomorrow in Houston.  In the upcoming week we will finish up applying the same decals on the trailer.  John Winchester did a final fit of our brand new high speed Paratech Parachutes.

Rich, Tom, Shauna and John Drury gave the two trailers a thorough inspection, checking all the fluids and air levels.  Next week we will pick up a second tractor from Don Lemon's Interstate Wood Products.  Tim extended the length of our video cables for our Ecliptic Enterprises RocketCam™ cameras.

On The Internet

We are happy to announce Ed and Keith will be doing another e-Seminar for Dassault Systèmes.  This time the duo will share the spotlight with Richard Petty Racing and Gillett Evernham Motorsports!  The King had a great weekend as Enumclaw's Kasey Kahne took a first place win at Infineon Raceway this past weekend!  The e-Seminar will air July 21st.

On Television

We continue to talk with a half dozen television production companies interested in doing a documentary on our upcoming test session.
