May 3, 2008

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The weather in Seattle got back to normal with overcast sky and drizzling rains, but that didn’t stop the North American Eagle™ team of Rich Pengelley, Steve Wallace, Tim Finley, Von Armstrong, Bill Eckberg, Omar Chramosta, Jon Higley, Cam, Rachel and Alex Shadle, John Drury, Gino Sanfilippo, John Winchester, Eric McClain, Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle from putting in another day at the Flying Schenck Ranch.

Everett Herald reporter Scott Pesznecker asks Ed questions

Reporter Scott Pesznecker and camerawoman Jennifer Buchanen from the Everett Herald Newspaper dropped by the hangar to interview Bill, Rich and Cam.  The three team mates live in the Snohomish County area that is served by the Everett Herald and the paper is doing a story on the three Everett area residents.

Tim working on cannon plug

Tim & Bill finished up some work on the cannon plugs used on the S&S Turbine Services turbo jet engine.  The cannon plugs allow the engine to be removed without compromising the electrical system.  Eric fired up our Central Welding Supply welder and plasma cutter and finished up our number 2 parachute system that John Winchester and Randy Thomas (Thomas Aerospace) are working on.

Von did some maintenance on the SCBA (self contain breathing apparatus) systems.  Rich replaced some lower panels that he has been working on the past couple of weeks.  Steve spent most of the day working on the Topcon GPS that will be tied in with our PCB Piezotronics data acquisition system.

This Monday at 12 noon EST, The Science Chanel will be airing our hit TV show Mega Builders – Worlds Fastest Wheels.  The one hour documentary directed by Dugauld Maudsley follows the team on our very first test session.  Since the original air date, the show will have been shown over 39 times in the United  States.

Checking the nitrogen charge's effectiveness

Bill, Tim & Ed recharged the nitrogen in the front suspension.

Earlier in the week Ed did an interview that was aired on National Public Radio.  Click here to listen to it.

Next week will be a big news week for the NAE™.  Look for a new sponsor announcement.

That’s it for now.  We’re getting closer everyday to our goal of breaking the 763 mph world land speed record.

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
