NAE™ Project:
Update

September 1, 2007

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Present at today's work party were Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Jon Higley, John Drury, Steve & Libby Wallace, John Winchester and Scott Robertson. Today's main task was installing the steering box up into the front wheel well.

L: Jeff Harwell R: Jerry Weaver

Jerry Weaver and his guest, Jeff Harwell, were visitors today and got a tour of the hangar from Jon, who explained the various parts and functions of the car.

Steve worked on the power connection to the UPS unit recently supplied by Falcon® Electric. Ed worked on the new tray that will hold the batteries, inverter and UPS unit in the bay just behind the electronics bay.

Raising the steering box

Keith, John, Steve and Jon worked together to raise the steering box up into the wheel well, while Scott continued bending hydraulic tubing and connecting them up to the flexible tubes from the steering box.

John Winchester spent time discussing details about our high speed parachutes and the new tubes which are being designed. They also went through the box of risers supplied by our sponsor Puget Sound Rope.

Libby BBQed up some very tasty hot dogs with chips, drink and cookies for the team. She always does a great job of keeping the guys fed!
